Employment Rights (Employment Particulars and Paid Annual Leave) (Amendment) Regulations 2018 (no 1378)

These new regulations:

  • make provision of a written statement of particulars of employment a day 1 right while also imposing some further requirements on what a statement should contain.  
  • change the reference period for calculating holiday pay to 52 weeks from the current 12 weeks.

The regulations are part of the Government's attempts to bolster protections for agency workers and those on zero hours contracts as announced earlier this week but do not come into force until 6 April 2020.
