December 2013 CPD Questions

[Mba v Mayor and Burgess of the London Borough of Merton ]()**[2013] EWCA Civ 1562
Appeal against refusal of religious discrimination claims where the claimant, a Christian, resigned as she did not wish to work on a Sunday following a change in work patterns. Appeal dismissed.**

[Nayif v High Commission of Brunei Darussalam ]()**[2013] EWHC 3938 (QB)
Appeal against the striking out of the claimant’s claim for damages for negligence and breach of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 because the claimant was essentially putting forward the same factual case as he had before the employment tribunal. Appeal dismissed.**

[Gallop v Newport City Council ]()**[2013] EWCA Civ 1583
Appeal against the rejection by the ET, and upheld by the EAT, of the claimant’s claim of disability discrimination. Appeal allowed and remitted to the ET for a re-hearing.**

[Lindsay v London School of Economics & Political Science ]()**[2013] EWCA Civ 1650
Appeal seeking to uphold claims for racial harassment, direct discrimination and victimisation where the EAT had dismissed the harassment and discrimination claims and remitted the victimisation claim to the same Tribunal. Appeal dismissed.**

For each question answered correctly 10 minutes of CPD is added to your training record so if you answer all 12 that will give you 2 hours.

Barristers: please note that, according to BSB rules, you will have to answer at least 3 questions correctly, equivalent to 30 minutes, for the training to count towards your CPD requirements.
